EDDA GIMNES

Edda is a Norwegian womenswear designer who graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2015, when she set up her own brand. Her aim is to continue combining fashion-meets arts in and new and unexpected way, focusing on naïve cuts and visually striking graphic prints. She draws a lot with her non- dominant hand, which adds an element of unaffected innocence to her designs and illustrations. The core identity of the brand is naivety, playfulness, imperfection and quirkiness. She has been featured in The New York Times as one of ten “Fresh out of Fashion School designers to watch”. 
 She has won the BFTA, Saga Fur Competition Award in London 2015, The International Fur Federations Remix Bronze Award in conjunction with Italian Vogue in Milan in 2016, ´Ones to Watch ́ with Fashion Scout in London in 2016. Last year she won The Designer for Tomorrow Award in Berlin with Alber Elbaz as the patron, where he said: “She captured my imagination and I’m keen to find out how her talent will evolve”. She has showcased her collections over ten times within the last two years. She has recently won the Merit Award with Fashion Scout as well as the Norwegian designer of the Year Costume award in 2018. This year she was selected as one of the finalist for the LVMH Award in Paris.

Edda is working alongside Manuel Vadillo on her collections, who is a previous Central Saint Martins Graduate and womenswear designer. 
 
Her brand has been featured in Vogue UK, Vogue Italia, Vogue Germany, Instyle, Garage, Interview, Elle, New York Times and WGSN to name a few. She has recently dressed Lady Gaga, Gigi Hadid and Lena Dunham. EDDA has taken on collaborations with Disney, Kopenhagen Fur and Microsoft to name a few.
